The Final Testament of al-Khidhr to Moses (pbut): Pillars of Divine Ethics and Wisdom

Hawzah News Agency- Imam Sajjad (a.s) said:

کَانَ آخِرُ مَا أَوْصَی بِهِ الْخَضِرُ مُوسَی بْنَ عِمْرَانَ علیهما السّلام أَنْ قَالَ لَهُ لَا تُعَیِّرَنَّ أَحَداً بِذَنْبٍ وَ إِنَّ أَحَبَّ الْأُمُورِ إِلَی اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ ثَلَاثَهٌ الْقَصْدُ فِی الْجِدَهِ وَ الْعَفْوُ فِی الْمَقْدُرَهِ وَ الرِّفْقُ بِعِبَادِ اللَّهِ وَ مَا رَفَقَ أَحَدٌ بِأَحَدٍ فِی الدُّنْیَا إِلَّا رَفَقَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ بِهِ یَوْمَ الْقِیَامَهِ وَ رَأْسُ الْحِکْمَهِ مَخَافَهُ اللَّهِ تَبَارَکَ وَ تَعَالَی.

The final counsel that al-Khidhr gave to Moses, the son of Imran (peace be upon them both), was when he said to him:

‘Never reproach anyone for a sin. Indeed, the most beloved of matters to Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, are three:

1.Moderation in times of abundance/wealth,

2.Pardon when possessing the power (to retaliate), and

3.Gentleness toward the servants of Allah. And no one treats another with gentleness in this world except that Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, will treat him with gentleness on the Day of Resurrection; and the pinnacle of wisdom is the fear (and awe) of Allah, the Blessed and Exalted.’
